Product Intern → Product Manager for the 0-to-1 stage of development
Background
Zig was a new venture by ComfortDelGro started in 2020. It was a key product of ComfortDelGro’s digital transformation journey to harmonize the dual concepts of physical mobility and digital mobility, by bringing mobility to life.
This took the form of a mobility + lifestyle super-app, where users could easily search and secure multi-modal transport options from point-to-point, and discover lifestyle options (F&B, sightseeing, activities etc) at their destinations - forming a seamless traveling and discovery journey for users.
Project Involvement and Outcomes
In-a-nutshell
As the initial a product manager, I was involved in conducting the product research and facilitating the formation of the product strategy - allowing us to form a clear vision and end-state for our initial product launch.
Key tasks and responsibilities included:
- Performed market analysis, identifying our customer segment pain points and designing the customer journey.
- Subsequently, presented findings and recommendations to C-suite management
- Assisting in definition of the product strategy and equirements for the digital marketplace,
- Identifying go-to-market strategies, potential partners, and helped drive discussion with external partners.
- Supported the C-suite executives to develop the product roadmap.
Note: Throughout development, the product team worked with an external development agency for product development, with our team containing key personnel (the control center).
Key Outcomes/Achievements
Project Success
We met our stated launch goals, had a successful launch in the market, with many of our users indicating strong preference for the new product experience over the existing ComfortDelGro taxi app.
